Puma has officially confirmed that Mamelodi Sundowns attacker, Percy Tau, has signed a partnership with the brand.
The 22-year-old youngster, who is one of the hottest properties in South Africa's top flight, will be playing playing on Puma's evoSpeed SL line of boots, as used by the likes of Kaizer Chiefs' George Lebese.
"PUMA is proud to present the latest addition to its growing team of football stars – Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Percy Tau. The 22-year-old will wear the new PUMA evoSPEED SL boot, as worn by the likes of Sergio Aguero and George Lebese," PUMA confirmed in a press-release.
Speaking to PUMA, Tau also told the brand that his teammate, Themba Zwane is one of the reasons why he opted to join up with the brand.
"I was attracted to the PUMA brand when they were awarded the sponsorship for Sundowns. I tried the evoSPEED boots and loved them, because they suit my game. Themba Zwane is another reason. He was always telling me how great PUMA is, so when they approached me I already knew a lot about them," Tau said.
The company's marketing director, Brett Bellinger, also had some great words to say about the player.
"Percy Tau's fearless yet cool playing style, as well as his hunger for success both on and off the field make him the perfect brand ambassador for us," he said.
