Orlando Pirates in conjunction with their main sponsors, Vodacom are embarking on massive social responsibility programme which will see both stakeholders collaborate to pack food parcels for orphans and the impoverished members of the community as part of the 67 minutes for Mandela Day.
The entire Orlando team consisting of players and officials will travel to Vodaworld in Midrand, Johannesburg, where they will join staff from the cell phone giants in packing the food parcels for two hours.
Orlando Pirates Public Relations Officer, Mickey Modisane, expressed his excitement at the initiative to Soccer Laduma.
"We are joining the employees at Vodacom to pack over 14 000 food packages for the less fortunate members of our community. We are looking forward to this project and everyone at Pirates is excited at the prospect," said Modisane.
"We value the significance of what this day means, and welcome the opportunity to contribute our efforts for social change," added the Pirates spokesperson.
