English giants, Liverpool FC will send two of their academy teams to participate in a football festival in South Africa, the Lucky Star Cup.
Liverpool FC will visit South Africa for the very first time in April this year, after the President of FC Kapstadt, Zaid Omar, made the trip to the United Kingdom alongside Lucky Star Managing Director, Lourens De Waal, after sending out invitations to participate in the festival.
"Myself (Zaid Omar), Lucky Star Managing Director Lourens De Waal and 27 Sports MD Abdullah Solomons travelled to the UK to meet Liverpool officials in order to do a presentation and for information exchange sessions," Omar told the Siya crew.
"Our presentation included profiles of Lucky Star CUP, FC Kapstadt, SA Football landscape, City of Cape Town - to Liverpool FC's Head of Academy Business Operation, Andrew Powlesla nd and Dean Brooke, the Academy Operations Manager."
"The Liverpool officials were very happy with our presentation and accepted our invite with the final proviso based on a risk assessment in April in Cape Town. Their visit to Cape Town in April will also include a press conference to local media," he added.
