Insiders: To Sign Sithole, Chiefs Would Have To Sacrifice A Star

However, insiders added that the club will most probably have to choose between the two, as maintaining both is not feasible.

The sources disclosed that the technical team is aiming to avoid adding to a large squad, necessitating sacrifices when there's an abundance of options.

"Management is waiting for the technical team to give them their report on the players they want for next season and the ones they would like to be released. But the clear case for now is the one between Njabulo Blom and Yaya Sithole. It's believed that the two players play in the same position and (the team) cannot have both as there are others already in that position. So now a choice has to be made. Do they keep Njabulo as they wanted before or bring in Yaya who they have been monitoring even before his injury? That's the choice the club will have to make before the end of the season," the Siya source stated.

A second insider underlined how the technical team plans to maintain a manageable squad next season.

"There could be more changes as well, due to the fact that the technical team is looking at a squad of 25 to 30 players only. This means that although the club is looking at a few new signings there would be more players leaving the team at the end of the season. So, as much as the club is interested in Yaya Sithole they have to release some players in that position as well (to potentially free up space for him)," the second source revealed.

Currently, Chiefs have four players—Mduduzi Mdantsane, Sabelo Radebe, Christian Saile, and Donay Jansen—the first two on loan at Richards Bay and the latter at SuperSport United respectively. Amakhosi will have to find solutions for these players too, which will come a long way to freeing up space in the squad.
