Orlando Pirates boss, Dr Irvin Khoza, has paid a moving tribute to the late Metro FM presenter, Eddie Makhosonke Zondi, following his untimely passing on Monday.
Zondi presented the Romantic Repertoire show at Metro FM on Sunday afternoons.
"Eddie's soothing voice is what came first to my mind when I heard about his sad and sudden passing," Khoza told the official Pirates website.
"Eddie epitomised 'gentle' - gentle giant, gentle velvety voice, gentle soul, a dark handsome gentleman. He was my Soweto version of Isaac Hayes."
"Eddie loved and loved deeply. He cared and cared absolutely. He was an 'all or nothing' guy. He was a story teller that narrated stories about love. He found in song lyrics words to transport and convey deeply felt emotions."
"Lovers found in Eddie that counsellor, that uncle that understood and expressed how they felt better than they could themselves," added Khoza.
Khoza said Zondi's support for Orlando Pirates was unwavering.
"The team's performance affected his 'Happiness Coefficient'. I will forever remember the many conversations we had about Orlando Pirates, especially when he was unhappy."
"A peaceful, gentle man has departed. There is no doubt that his soul is reposing peacefully. Let us honour him by committing ourselves to be gentle and peaceful in our daily endeavours," concluded Khoza.
