SAFA Acting Technical Director Fran Hilton-Smith has heaped praise on former Banyana Banyana skipper Simphiwe Dludlu, who received a UEFA B Licence earlier this year.
Dludlu received the licence after successfully completing a four-month coaching course in Holland that was offered to former players. She is set to play an bigger role in developing women's football in South Africa and Hilton-Smith seems to share the same thoughts.
She told Safa's official website, "Of course it's a massive day for South African football, for women's football, that we have one of our own former national players and captain of Banyana receiving a UEFA B Licence. It's massive for the development of women's football in South Africa and we hope to see her in the national team one of these fine days."
She added, "Simphiwe will be involved in the development of the SAFA technical master plan. She'll be involved with the U13, U15, with the talent scouting obviously. There she's presently the assistant coach at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria, where the bulk of our national team players are involved, and she's very involved with women's football at all levels."
