South Africa secured top spot in Group A and qualified for the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals following a 1-1 draw against Zambia on Friday night.
Coach Raymond Mdaka's charges come into the clash on the back of a 4-1 thrashing of Sierra Leone on Tuesday evening, while Zambia bagged their first win by defeating Tanzania 1-0 in their last clash.
The South Africans entered the clash second in Group A, knowing a win would see them move top of the group.
Amajita got off to the perfect start when Kutlwano Letlhaku bagged his first goal of the tournament after being set up by Mfundo Vilakazi in the eighth minute.
The Zambians weren't behind for too long after restoring parity four minutes later courtesy of a strike from Bonephanseo Phiri, which was only team's second goal of the competition.
With the first half ending all square, Mdaka made his first charge at the start of the second half as scorer Letlhaku came off as Cape Town City midfielder Patrick Autata made his way onto the park.
Zambia were camped in the South Africans' half for most of the first half as they went in search of the second goal, but they were restricted to efforts from distance, none of which seriously troubled goalkeeper Fletcher Smythe-Lowe.
Mdaka's charges were able to see out the closing stages of the second half to claim the point, which sees South Africans top the group ahead of Tanzania and Egypt due to a better goal-difference.
As a result, South Africa will now face the Democratic Republic of Congo in the quarter-finals.
