The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that it is in the process of increasing the money for the interclub competitions starting next season.

In a media statement, CAF announced that it was happy with the Governance Compliance Committee Report on governance non-compliance or weaknesses within the CAF Secretariat.
The committee conducted a presentation to the in-person CAF Executive Committee and did not find any breaches in the CAF secretariat, but made reservations to enhance and strengthen governance practices within CAF.
The statement also said that CAF were in the process of increasing the financial contributions by 100% to all clubs competiting in CAF club competitions.
"I am very happy with the processes underway to increase by 100% CAF's financial contributions to each of the approximately 130 clubs that participate in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup," Motsepe said.
Last year was the first time CAF contributed any funds to participating sides, contributing $50,000 (R888,000) and want to increase it to $100,000 (R1,7 million) this season.
During the meeting, the ExCo also presented a shortlist of global marketing companies that have tendered to partner with CAF for $1 billion financial contribution over eight years.
"These financial resources will contribute enormously to the development and global competitiveness of African football and investment in Youth Football development and infrastructure," Motsepe added.
The CAF boss praised African clubs for their performances at the FIFA Club World Cup and promised that there will be better performances in the future.

"CAF is thankful to FIFA and President Gianni Infantino for organising an exciting and world class competition that will contribute to the global competitiveness and growth of African Clubs and Football Clubs worldwide," he concluded.
