Masandawana progressed to the CAF Champions League semi-final with a 5-2 aggregate win over Algeria's CR Belouizdad, while Gallants progressed in dramatic circumstances thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Egypt's Pyramids, which saw them claim a 2-1 aggregate victory in the tie.

Following the recent increase in prize money for Africa's two biggest inter-club competitions, there is some real cash at stake with the winner of the CAF Champions League pocketing a staggering $4m (±R73.5m).

Both clubs have managed to secure themselves some prize money by reaching the semi-finals of their respective competitions, with Sundowns guaranteed $1.2m (±R22m) purse for their efforts.

Gallants are guaranteed around $750,000 (±R13.7m) for reaching the semis, but will more than double that if they can manage to go on and win the competition.
