Steve Komphela has lamented the possible reasons that could have contributed to Kaizer Chiefs loss to Chippa United.
Amakhosi suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to the Chili Boys in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, a result which subsequently provoked unpleasant behaviour from the supporters.
Speaking after the game, Komphela revealed that his side looked lethargic during the encounter and it may have been due to the fact that Amakhosi have played three matches in seven days.
“Firstly one has to coincide that it was a bad result terrible result for us and how it came about is just clear and whatever you say will be reasons with regards to how the match unfolded. Congratulations to (Vladislav) Heric and his team, they took advantage of the chances they had, they were effective on their counter-attacking game, which paid at the end,” Komphela said.
“I thought for me, body language point of view, we didn’t look okay, we looked lethargic and one has to admit that, what could be the reasons, you never know, could it be that we played three matches in 7 days, the travelling, the trips and all that, but it shouldn’t come across as an excuse from us, it just to own up and accept the fact that we didn’t deliver on the day,” he added.
