Benzema Takes Action After Losing 5-2 To Ronaldo In Saudi?

Karim Benzema's social media activity has caused concern after his side's recent 5-2 loss to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr.

As noted by talkSPORT, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner appears to have removed his Instagram account following Al Ittihad's defeat to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

Benzema led his teammates at home on Tuesday night as they succumbed to a significant loss, in which both Ronaldo and Sadio Mane scored braces.

The Frenchman had 76 million followers on Instagram, with only Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe having bigger profiles on the social media application.

Since joining Al Ittihad after his decision to leave Real Madrid as a free agent, Benzema has battled to win over supporters and pundits in Saudi Arabia.

He has been strongly criticised at times, with Walid Al-Faraj, one of the Middle Eastern country's best-known journalists, recently taking aim at the 36-year-old.

"The gap between Benzema and the public is growing day by day. He never managed to make a difference," he said, according to Goal

"And above all, he doesn't make any effort. It's as if he's saying to the audience: 'I'm just having fun with you.'

"When Ronaldo arrived in January, he showed signs he wanted to play, but Benzema has offered nothing. It's like the team doesn't like him. He is uncomfortable. I don't know the reason."
