Chiefs Links Won’t Go Away: Human Breaks Silence

Chiefs Links Won’t Go Away: Human Breaks Silence

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - FEBRUARY 04: Rowan Human of Amazulu and Inacio Miguel of Kaizer Chiefs during the Betway Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC at FNB

Rowan Human has finally addressed the persistent speculation linking him with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, after more than a year of his name being mentioned in connection with the Soweto giants.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who is currently a free agent following his departure from AmaZulu at the end of the 2024/25 season, admitted that while he’s flattered by the rumours, he’s keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Human shared his thoughts on the constant Chiefs links that have followed him since his standout performances in the DStv Premiership last year.

“I’ve seen it, but I don’t pay too much attention,” Human said about the Chiefs speculation.

“Of course, it’s nice to be linked to big clubs. Every player dreams of wearing that jersey. But when I was contracted to AmaZulu, I had a job to do. That’s always the focus. I really enjoyed playing against Chiefs last season—home and away, both were tough games.”

Human, who enjoyed his most consistent top flight campaign with 27 appearances, also made it clear he wouldn’t limit himself to just one option among South Africa’s football powerhouses.

“If you could choose, which of the Big Three would you say suits you best?” he was asked.

“I’d say all three,” Human replied. “Like I said earlier, they each have the structure and quality where a player like me can thrive in. If any of them do come calling, I’d feel at home in any of those environments.”

With Chiefs, Pirates, and Sundowns all expected to bolster their squads ahead of the new season, Human’s availability and his versatile attacking profile could make him an attractive prospect. But whether Chiefs turn long-standing rumours into a concrete offer remains to be seen.
