Erasmus did not start Pirates’ CAF Confederation Cup 1-0 victory over CS Sfaxien on Sunday but came off the bench and forced a fine save from the opposition keeper and hit the crossbar in the last chance of the game.
In the 2014/15 campaign, the 25-year-old scored 10 goals in 20 league starts for the Buccaneers and will be looking to carry his fine form into the coming season.
Gaxa who is expected to start at centre back will have his work cut out in trying to stop the diminutive front man from getting on the score sheet.
The 31-year-old is naturally a right back but is expected to partner new recruit, Siyanda Xulu, in the heart of the Amakhosi defence as regular centre back Erick Mathoho is still in the process of recovering from an injury.

Gaxa was ever present in the Amakhosi line-up last season starting every single one of their league encounters and it will be interesting to see how he copes in the centre of defence against the likes of Erasmus and Lehlohonolo Majoro.
