TikTok - 10 international footballers to check out

TikTok - 10 international footballers to check out

TikTok is a sensational social media platform, and it has many people hooked that even some of your favourite footballers cannot escape the hype. Here are 10 ballers you might want to follow on TikTok.

What's the story?

For those that might be wondering, the basic principles of TikTok are fairly simple, the application allows users to produce and share very short creative videos of 15 to 60 seconds. The creative possibilities are endless, and if you were to follow Bayern Munich's Alphonse Davies, you would probably forget that he is even a footballer.

Scroll through the gallery above to see 10 international footballers you might want to see on TikTok

Who are the stars?

According to luxury retailer Aphrodite, Davies is the highest-earning footballer from TikTok, and he earns a modest £1772 (R36 125) per post, and £2 664 954 (R54 million) annually. We figured, if he is the highest earner, then surely, he must be one of the best content-producing soccer players on the platform.

Sergio Ramos is another popular figure, with 7.4 million followers. The Paris Saint-Germain defender posts regularly, often health and fitness posts, and simply showing us why he is still in top form at the age of 35.

Now, if you're interested in a player that straight-up posts about their personal life and lifestyle, look no further than Vinicius Junior. The Real Madrid attacker is somewhat of a troll in various football quarters due to his relatively poor finishing and audacious skills, but his TikTok is much more appealing because you kind of get the sense of how zealous he is.

Side note

According to digital analytics company App Annie, TikTok was the world's most downloaded app in 2020 as it took the top spot from Facebook. The platform was the only app not owned by Facebook to make the world's top five downloads.

It is further understood the COVID-19 pandemic had a great impact on the prominence of the app, as downloads were accelerated by the fact that people spent time indoors with their smartphones.

Your thoughts, please?
