'The Problem Is Pirates Were Still Celebrating Their Win Over Chiefs'

'The Problem Is Pirates Were Still Celebrating Their Win Over Chiefs'

Orlando Pirates failed to progress to the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup after getting knocked out by Cape Town City on Wednesday evening.

The Buccaneers lost 1-0 to the Citizens courtesy of Ayanda Patosi, whose goal was good enough ensure that the visitors' Nedbank Cup dreams were squashed. Not only did the win for the Cape side book them a spot in the quarterfinals, they also claimed their first victory over the Soweto giants since undergoing a renaming and relocation in 2016.

Supporters Club members have reacted to the result...

"Our neighbors were very noisy, credit to Benni for silencing them. Jele was becoming a spokesperson of Pirates. He forgot to defend and the goal was scored from him." – EagleEye

"This was the best Nedbank Last 16 cup game of them all. It was like watching the Champions League. Bucs were beaten but their football is top of the range. The less I say about my team under Komphela, the better. Benni was lucky to do a UEFA licence assignment, which gave him a chance to go and watch Manchester City at training, and it helped him big time to win this game." – Swinedunus-6-Rats-0-namanje

"The problem with Bucs is that they were still celebrating their win over Chiefs as if they had won the league already. These guys were talking too much, football is not fair, hey. Nobody saw this coming. Should Chiefs win the Nedbank Cup, people will cry because celebrating results instead of cups is risky." – GPT@89

"What a good job from a good team with good, quality players. Teko Modise is still the best." – SANDILE MBATHA ENQUTU
