'Kaizer Motaung Sr, Here Are Some Questions For You'

'Kaizer Motaung Sr, Here Are Some Questions For You'

Supporters Club caught up with one of its members, Kaizer Chiefs fan Sylvester Nkosi, who dwelled on the concerns he has regarding his favourite club's current situation.

Amakhosi have not been at their best since the beginning of 2017/18 season, and this has had supporters of the team worried for quite some time now. Here are Sylvester Nkosi's thoughts on the situation.

"I'd like to say well done to the team for securing three points over the weekend against Platinum Stars. However, I have questions for our chairman, Kaizer Motaung Sr, and hopefully we will get the answers.

"Firstly, the club called a meeting among the management and players, where it was said that the team will be making various changes in preparations ahead of the next PSL campaign. It had also been reported that some players might see their stay at Naturena come to an end in order to accommodate new quality players. Who are these players? When we speak of quality, we speak of the likes of Percy Tau, Vincent Pule, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Sinethemba Jantjie. So, who are these quality players my team is speaking of?

"Secondly, will Steve Komphela still be in charge of Amakhosi when these changes commence? If not, then the current squad we have at Naturena should not be released. Reason being, I am worried we will release players who never got a fair chance under Komphela's mentorship only to find out they are exactly the quality we need when they shine in other teams. My fear is that they will release Gustavo Paez, who has the potential to be one of our best players. I don't want that to happen. If there will be a new coach aboard, let him work with the current players and take it from there.

"Lastly... eish, this one pains me. It gives me sleepless nights. Who scouts players for our team? What qualities do they look for in these players that they bring to Naturena? For example, we bought Leonardo Castro, who has done absolutely nothing for us. Look at Sundowns, they mean business when it comes to signing quality. If I recall correctly, Jose Torrealba was one of the last quality players we signed over the years. He delivered and he was top quality. Can Motaung Sr give Kaizer Jr a chance, please, let him take over Bobby's responsibilities. Let Junior be the one to negotiate on behalf of the team. Not to say he should fire Bobby or anything, just give Junior a chance and see what happens.

"Also, can we not be tempted by the likes of Andile Jali, who could be making their way back to the PSL? Imagine if we sign Jali, that would result in the coach sacrificing either Willard Katsande or Pule Ekstein. Chiefs must not focus on signing a player based on their popularity or the name. A name is nothing if the team does not deliver. Can we also have all our loaned players back at the club next season, please? Lorenzo Gordinho must come back home.

"The league is gone and we have accepted it, but can we have the glory days back next season? It has been long overdue now."

What do you think of the concerns raised by this supporter?
