Many Mamelodi Sundowns fans are seemingly quite confidence that the Yellow Nation will advance to the Nedbank Cup final at the expense of an impressive Maritzburg United this weekend.
Supporters Club member and Masandawana fan Oupa gave us his views and expectations ahead of the Brazilians' date with the Team of Choice on Sunday afternoon.
"Mamelodi Sundowns are going to rise to the occasion against Maritzburg United on Sunday because we have such a formidable squad comprising the likes of Percy Tau, Villa, Themba Zwane, just to mention but a few. They have been exceptionally marvellous to watch. They are reminiscent of 'CBD', but they can't be compared. Suffice it to say, it is not going to be a stroll in the park for us knowing that Maritzburg United have great players at their disposal and the previous results against Limpopo outfits speaks volumes of how great they are.
"They have been performing with so much aplomb from the start of the Absa Prem campaign. It's a pity they are not going to progress to the final of Nedbank Cup much to the chagrin of Mamelodi Sundowns because Downs are well stabilised in all departments. We have a solid defence and Nascimento and Arendse have been controlling our department of defence beautifully and with distinction. What a perfect blend! We are going to give the Team of Choice a run for their money, irrespective of the fact that we are playing at their fortress."
