Sundowns are yet to win since they were crowned DStv Premiership champions, with three successive draws after they rescued a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows in mid-week.

The Brazilians booked their spot in the last eight of the tournament after thrashing Marumo Gallants 3-1 at the beginning of last month.

Stellies, meanwhile, have scored the most number of goals in the competition so far, after drubbing Swallows 3-0 in the first round and hammered TS Galaxy 6-3 in the round of 16.

The Cape Winelands outfit, however, come to the game wounded after back-to-back defeats against Kaizer Chiefs and Royal AM in the league.

To make matters worse, Stellies will be without three players due to suspension, namely, goalkeeper Sage Stephens, Nhlanhla Mgaga and Dean Van Rooyen.

Steve Barker's charges held Sundowns to a 1-1 draw in the league last month at Danie Craven Stadium after Iqraam Rayners cancelled out a late opener by Cassius Mailula at the death.
