SuperSport United welcome Maritzburg United to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for DStv Premiership action this evening.

DStv Premiership

Teams: SuperSport United v Maritzburg United

Date: 24 February 2023

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Time: 19h30

Apart from their Nedbank Cup elimination, SuperSport are unbeaten in their last four matches after they played to a 1-1 draw against Royal AM last weekend.

However, three of those matches have been draws as Matsatsantsa's lead in second position has been reduced to just two points by third-placed Orlando Pirates and Richards Bay, who are tied with Pirates on 31 points in fourth-placed on the log.

A win for Gavin Hunt's charges could stretch their lead to five points over the Buccaneers and the Natal Rich Boyz.

As for Maritzburg, they are winless in their last four matches in all competitions, including a Nedbank Cup exit at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs.

The Team of Choice faced the two Soweto giants back to back after they were edged 2-1 by Pirates in the league exactly a week ago.

Fadlu Davids' men are lying second-from-bottom on the table and a win could take them up to 13th before the weekend round of fixtures.

SuperSport will be chasing a league double over Maritzburg after they registered a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture.
