Orlando Pirates will be looking to get back on track in the DStv Premiership when they host Maritzburg United on Friday evening.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Orlando Pirates v Maritzburg United

Date: 17 January 2023

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Time: 19h30

Pirates' three-game winning run was burst by Mamelodi Sundowns, who completed a league double over their rivals with a narrow 1-0 win two weeks ago.

The Buccaneers redeemed themselves in the Nedbank Cup after beating second-tier side All Stars 2-0 to advance to the round of 16.

However, the Soweto giants will want to get back on track in their bid to qualify for the CAF Champions League, as they are currently lying fourth on the table, four points behind second-placed SuperSport United.

Pirates will be without head coach Jose Riveiro on the bench due to suspension after he was sent off in a win over All Stars.

As for Maritzburg, they are also looking for a turnaround after their loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup extended their winless run to three games in all competitions.

The Team of Choice had also won three games in a row prior to their recent slump and have now since dropped to 15th on the table.

United will be without midfielder Travis Graham due to suspension after he was red-carded against Chiefs.

The Sea Robbers will be motivated to turn the tables against Maritzburg after a rare 1-0 loss to the Pietermaritzburg-based side in the reverse.

Here's how they line up:
