DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns will be aiming to finish their season on a high when travel to relegation-threatened Marumo Gallants in the penultimate match on Saturday evening.

Date: 06 May 2023

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Sundowns have been struggling for form in the domestic league since they were crowned champions as they drew their fourth game in five matches after they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with AmaZulu on Wednesday.

The Brazilians still have a chance of breaking the record tally of 71 points set by the club in the 2015-16 season under former coach Pitso Mosimane with two games to go.

However, the Tshwane giants can't afford to drop more points to break that record in the PSL era, as that would end those chances.

Gallants, on the other hand, avoided dropping down to the relegation zone after they scored in stoppage time to rescue a 2-2 draw against direct rivals Maritzburg United in midweek.

Despite the Limpopo side's eight-game unbeaten run, they are languishing third-from-bottom on the table, equal on points with 15th-placed Chippa United and three points above bottom side Maritzburg, with two games to go.

Sundowns will be looking to complete a six-point haul over Gallants after edging them 1-0 in the first round thanks to a strike by Sphelele Mkhulise back in October last year.

Here's how they line up:

Marumo Gallants: 36. Arubi, 29. Gumede, 2. Nkili, 45. Toure, 30. Kumalo, 32. Makudubela, 17. Mohomi, 50. Sibeko, 11. Otladisa, 3. Manaka, 8. Chivaviro
