Sundowns showed big signs of not slowing down in the final stretch of the season after they hammered Al Ahly 5-2 to qualify for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals with two matches to spare.
Rulani Mokwena's charges are 17 points clear at the top of the table with eight games to play and need at least three more wins to be crowned champions.
Meanwhile, Royal AM's unbeaten run under returning coach John Maduka continued in the Nedbank Cup after they thrashed Golden Arrows 3-1 to book a spot in the quarter-finals.
Thwihli Thwahla will be looking to win back-to-back league matches for the first time this calendar year after they beat Sekhukhune United the last time out.
The KwaZulu-Natal side are placed seventh on the table and will be fighting to remain in the top eight.
The Brazilians will be chasing a league double over Royal AM after claiming a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
