Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to seal a spot in the CAF Champions League group stages when they host Bumamuru on Saturday evening.

CAF Champions League

Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Bumamuru

Date: 30 September 2023

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Time: 18h00

Sundowns put one foot in the group stages after hammering Bumamuru 4-0 in the first-leg in Tanzania two weeks ago courtesy of a brace by Lucas Ribeiro Costa and goals from Lesiba Nku and Peter Shalulile.

The Brazilians have played three domestic matches since then as they beat both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs in one week, in the DStv Premiership and MTN8 semi-final second-leg respectively.

The Tshwane giants were last in action on Wednesday after setting a new PSL record of 32 league games unbeaten with a 3-1 thrashing of Stellenbosch and maintained their 100 percent winning record at the top of the table.

As for Bumamuru, they have an uphill battle of overturning a 4-0 deficit from the first-leg, especially considering that all the goals were away for Sundowns.

The Burundian champions are having a slow start to the defence of their title as they are currently lying 13th in their domestic league, although they have three games in hand.

Bumamuru were last in action this past Sunday after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Moso Sugar in the league.

Confirmed line-ups:

Mamelodi Sundowns: D.Onyango, Mvala, Lebusa, Zungu, Mudau, Mokoena, Modiba, Maseko, Zwane, Maboe, Ribeiro

Subs: Williams, De Reuck, B.Onyango, Mkhulise, Morena, Maema, Ngobeni, Mendieta, Shalulile
