Date: 29 September 2024

Pirates started off their league season with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Chippa United, after Monnapule Saleng snatched the winner in the last minute.

The Buccaneers striker Tshegofatso Mabasa had cancelled an opener by Andile Jali for Chippa against his old team.

Jose Riveiro's charges made it two wins out of two after thrashing Polokwane City 3-0 thanks to a brace by Evidence Makgopa and another goal by Saleng on Tuesday.

The Soweto giants will be without Thabiso Monyane due to suspension.

Richards Bay, on the other hand, have already went through mixed results as they opened their league campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over TS Galaxy, with Keegan Allan scoring the crucial goal.

However, the Natal Rich Boyz dropped points in subsequent two games, as they lost 1-0 to the Chilli Boys last weekend and played to a goalless draw against Royal AM on Tuesday.
