REVEALED: Nabi's First Official Chiefs Staring XI

Nasreddine Nabi, coach of Kaizer Chiefs, during the 2024 Toyota Cup match between Kaizer Chiefs and Young Africans SC on 28 July 2024 at TOYOTA Stadium in Bloemfontein

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to make a good start under new head coach Nasreddine Nabi, when they open their Betway Premiership campaign away to Marumo Gallants on Saturday evening at Toyota Free State Stadium.

Betway Premiership

Teams: Marumo Gallants v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 14 September 2024

Venue: Toyota Stadium

Time: 17h30

Chiefs were one of the teams inconvenienced by the delay in the start of the league season, after they did not qualify for the MTN8, following their tenth place finish last term.

Amakhosi will officially start a new era, with a new technical team led by Nabi and new signings, goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, Bongani Sam, Gaston Sirino, Inacio Miguel, Bradley Cross and the return of Njabulo Blom, on loan.

The Glamour Boys will be looking to get rid of the memories of a 4-0 defeat to Young Africans at the same stadium in a Toyota Cup pre-season friendly at the end of July.

The Tunisian mentor will not be able to call upon the services of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who is suspended.

Similarly, Gallants will also be officially starting their season after they bought the status of Moroka Swallows, who finished in 14th place in the Premiership table last campaign.

Siwelele Sa Marumo are under the guidance of head coach Dan Malesela, who replaced Dylan Kerr during pre-season.

The Bloemfontein-based side's new signings include former Chiefs players, Phathutshedzo Nange, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Xola Mlambo and Gabadinho Mhango among others.

Gallants midfielder Masindi Nemtajela is also suspended for this encounter.

Here's how they line up:

Marumo Gallants: Marumo Gallants XI: Arubi, Molangoane, Mabotja, Rikhotso, Mathiane, Manaka, Dhludhlu, Mlambo, Mhango, Sithole, Mahlatsi.

Subs: Akpeyi, Nhlapo, Chabatsane, Nange, Mokobodi, Wagaba, Msendami, Mphambaniso, Shai.

Kaizer Chiefs: Ntwari, Frosler, Dortley, Miguel, Cross, Zwane, Maart, Shabalala, Sirino, Saile, Chivaviro.

Subs: Bvuma, Msimango, Jansen, Mashiane, Castillo, Vilakazi, Ngcobo, Du Preez, Duba.
