Amakhosi come into the clash with confidence on a low after losing 2-1 to Marumo Gallants on home soil last weekend.
The defeat to Gallants extended Chiefs' winless run in the league to six matches, with their last win coming against Magesi on 3 March.
Nasreddine Nabi's charges enter this evening's clash in ninth position, but a win can take the side as high as sixth, provided AmaZulu drop points.
Pirates, meanwhile, are also aiming for a return to winning ways after losing 1-0 to Sekhukhune United on Wednesday night.
The loss saw the Buccaneers fall 12 points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who defeated Richards Bay 3-0 on Wednesday.
The two sides met in February this year, where a late penalty from Patrick Maswanganyi handed the Buccaneers a 1-0 win at FNB Stadium.
