Bafana Bafana will have a chance to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations when they visit Congo-Brazzaville on Tuesday evening.
2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier
Teams: Congo v South Africa
Date: 15 October 2024
Venue: Stade Alphonse Massamba-Debat
Time: 18h00
Bafana took a big step towards qualifying after thrashing Congo 5-0 last Friday courtesy of a brace by Teboho mokoena and a goal apiece by Bathusi Aubaas, Lyle Foster and Iqraam Rayners.
Hugo Broos' charges moved to seven points in Group K, four points clear of Congo.
Which means, South Africa will qualify with two games to spare in the section, if they beat The Leopards on their home turf.
Congo, on the other hand, need a win to have any chance of catching up with Bafana and Uganda.
South Africa will be without striker Lyle Foster, who has been withdrawn from the squad due to injury and as a result, Foster did not travel with Bafana to Congo but flew back to his English Championship side Burnley for early rehabilitation.
Here's how they line-up:
South Africa: Williams, Mudau, Kekana, Dortley, Modiba, Mokoena, Aubaas, Mokwana, Appollis, Rayners, Zwane
Subs: Goss, Chaine, Mobbie, Basadien, Le Roux, Mofokeng, Maswanganyi, Kwayiba, Sibisi, Sesane, Morena
