Steve Komphela Has Explained Kaizer Chiefs' Draw With Orlando Pirates
Steve Komphela says that Orlando Pirates dominated Kaizer Chiefs during the first half of the Soweto Derby because of the way that they planned for the game.   Read: Soweto Drawby - Another 0-0   The Glamour Boys were unable to follow up their victory over Mamelodi Sundowns with a second consecutive win over the weekend, and for large parts of the game were outplayed by their Buccaneer neighbours.   With the game finishing 0-0 for the sixth time since 2010, Komphela believes that they had chances to win the game, and on another day it could've been a goal fest.   "We could have scored three goals. It could have been three-all," Komphela told Chiefs' official website.   "Pirates dominated because of the way they were setup, also overloading their midfield. We had to be patient and it was good to see that we kept our shape defensively.   "Our stabilising pass, the first after having won possession of the ball, was also not good and that's why we struggled to attack. As a result of this, Bernard Parker was left isolated up front.    Click here to check out the PSL fixtures   "Pirates also made a few changes since their last game in mid-week against Platinum Stars. That's why we had to adapt at half-time and we did much better in the second half."   Regarding the changes that he made at the break, Komphela singled out Joseph Molangoane, saying, "He had all these turns and tweaks in the first half, much to the delight of our supporters.   "But I realised that there wasn't any real threat as a result of these actions. I, therefore, asked him to play higher up in the second half, which worked very well and he was much more threatening. This also boosted his confidence and that of the team."   Now, as they look to progress in the Telkom Knockout this week, Komphela said, "We just need to keep pushing… We want to win every match."
