Maart, like Zwane was making his debut in the sold-out affair at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The midfielder made it an afternoon to remember as his long-range strike from within his own half to beat a hapless Siyabonga Mpontshane in the Pirates goal to earn his side all three points against their sworn nemesis.

Chiefs emerged 1-0 winners on the day. Speaking to the media after the match, Zwane reserved high praise for Maart, who rightfully walked away with the Man of the Match award after a sterling display for Amakhosi.

The goal was a special goal for us," Zwane told members of the media.

"Obviously that was Yusuf's first derby and the first derby for me as a coach as well and to win the derby with such a special goal it tells you about the tactical awareness of the player, because not many players will see that the keeper is off the line and he took a chance and it benefitted us in terms of getting a goal, and we've got the three points and credit to him and the rest of the guys. I think they put in a very great shift," he added.
