Frois: Why I'm Impressed With Ntseki's Chiefs

A prominent football intermediary and academy coach has lauded Kaizer Chiefs for improvement in the team's performances this season.

Chiefs went into the break enjoying good form after winning back-to-back league matches against AmaZulu and Stellenbosch FC respectively.

The team also drew against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 first leg semi-final fixture and have a good chance of advancing to the final if they can produce a similar kind of performance seen in recent matches.

Rui Frois from FTI Academy has commended the Soweto giants for the good work that is being done by coach Molefi Ntseki and the team.

"We appreciate the notable improvement in the overall performance of Kaizer Chiefs. The game model developed during the pre-season training and conditioning is starting to yield the desired effect," said Frois.

"The defensive block was clearly evident against Mamelodi Sundowns. (Edson) Castillo has anchored the midfield, allowing (Pule) Mmodi and (Mduduzi) Mdantsane the opportunity to add numbers in the final third during transitions," he said.

"It is important to note that this is work in progress. I hope that senior management and the fans can give coach Ntseki time to build this team over two or more seasons. Upfront, the expectations are high for the Colombian striker (Gonzales Palacios) to deliver the goals. That will relieve pressure off Ranga (Chivaviro), as he will come on as an impact player. The sports psychologist brought in has been working with the team in an attempt to rebuild confidence and instill strong mentality. Hopefully the fan favourite in Congolese attacking winger (Christian Saile) will finally rise to the occasion," concluded Frois.

Meanwhile, Chiefs have confirmed the team's DStv Premiership fixture against Royal AM which was scheduled to kick off at 20:00 at FNB Stadium on Saturday has been changed to 17:30.
