Ultimate Team on EA Sports FC is said to feature women footballers for the first time ever.

Although FIFA has featured female players for some years and updated FIFA 23 with more women's football competitions this year, women players have never featured in the most popular mode of the game.

Women's football stars to feature on FUT?

EA Sports and FIFA are going their seperate ways after 30 years, with EA Sports FC becoming the new 'FIFA' the new game and era for EA.

With EA Sports promising the FIFA community that what they loved on the FIFA games will be available on EA Sports FC, there's been plenty of speculation over changes that will be made on popular game mode's like Ultimate Team.

Leaker @FUTSheriff, who's 'leaked' plenty of Ultimate Team news and updates for Ultimate Team stated that female players are coming to Ultimate Team and players will, "most likely", be able to play in teams of both male and female players.

FIFA has been placing more focus on the women's game in recent times, even including Chelsea Women's star Sam Kerr on the FIFA 23 cover with Kylian Mbappe, and have updated FIFA 23 with more women's football competitions earlier this year, but women players have never featured in the game's most popular mode.

Along with Ultimate Team reportedly adding women players, earlygame.com reported on other leaks online that speculated on Women's Icon cards on Ultimate Team.

"There are consistent leaks from several sources via Twitter that women will get icons in EA Sports FC. It is not yet clear which players they will be. Just as open is the question to what extent women will be included in Ultimate Team.

"There are several possibilities. On the one hand, women could get their own UT [Ultimate Team] mode. On the other hand, women could be given their own mode in Ultimate Team to complete objectives," reads a snippet from a recent article on earlygame.com
