The second season of the Soccer Laduma League, powered by Puma, came to a close on Saturday with the winners in the Premier and Legends leagues bagging some amazing prizes.
As was the case in the qualifying and group stages, two Orlando Pirates eSports stars were standout competitors and did not disappoint in the Grand Finals.
The contestants in the Premier League were competing for R10 000 worth of Puma merchandise, as well as the opportunity to compete in the Legends League in the next season.
Pirates_Zaid smashed in 78 goals during the group stages and was a firm favourite after topping the group. In the Grand Finals he sailed to the final to take on GobiGam3r where he ran out a 3-0 winner to claim top spot - winning R5000 in Puma merchandise. GobiGam3r walked away with R2500 in Puma gear.
NMM and DarthMayhem put on a show in the third-place play-off where NMM came out on top in a 7-4 win and claimed the R1500 in Puma merchandise - with DarthMayhem getting R1000 in Puma gear.
In the Legends League, Pirates_Ubaid completed a perfect run of 2-0 victories in the quarter-finals and semi-finals before dispatching REEbrahimovic by the same scoreline in the showpiece match.
This earned Pirates_Ubaid R5000 in prize money, while second place received R2500. Pavendren, the dominant player in the group stages, pocketed R1500 for beating Mafiswana 2-0 in the third-place play-off.
