In July last year, Orlando Pirates confirmed extending the contract of Vincent Pule to keep him at the club to at least 2025.
The winger has been with the Buccaneers since 2018, having joined from the now defunct Bidvest Wits. In the last two seasons, the 32-year-old hasn't enjoyed regular game time and injuries have contributed to his unfortunate situation.
This season, the player has featured in eight matches in the league and has been out of the match day squads in the last four matches.
Indications from close sources are that the star is unlikely to get another contract extension at the Soweto giants if his situation with game time doesn't improve.
When Pule got his last contract extension, Bucs had also added an option of one year to further extend. However, due to his lack of regular game time, sources have hinted that the club could decide against activating the option.
"Injuries haven't been kind to the guy and that's what has delayed his progress at Pirates. He is a good player and a top human being and is humble. But due to his lack of game time, he may be allowed to look for greener pastures at the expiry if his current deal.
"SuperSport United is one of the clubs that have been monitoring his situation with interest," said the source.
