Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Thabang Sibanyoni, is one of the players likely to be offered to Kaizer Chiefs, the Siya crew has been informed.
Different names of players and coaches have been linked to the Naturena-based outfit in recent weeks as the club is expected to make changes at the end of the season in planning for a better campaign in 2024/25.
While Amakhosi haven't made any official comment about their plans for next season's squad, player agents and other people qualified in the business of moving players around haven't stopped sending their profiles to the Soweto giants.
Recent reports have linked Sundowns' development product Keletso Makgalwa with a move to the village, although the news was denied by the club.
The stocky attacker has scored eight goals for Upington City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. News reaching this publication is that Sibanyoni, who is another development product of the Brazilians, could be offered to Chiefs.
However, it isn't clear yet whether they will be making a move for the player, his impressive performances at University of Pretoria notwithstanding.
Sibanyoni has netted six goals for Tuks in the league, and it was his late strike against Moroka Swallows that sent the University outfit to the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
"Thabang Sibanyoni has done well to revive his career and he's had a few clubs making enquiries on his availability. Chiefs is one of the clubs that are aware of the player's progress," said the source.
"He is a good player who's just been unfortunate that he didn't get enough chance to play at Sundowns just like (Etiosa) Ighodaro. He has been scoring goals for Tuks in the league and Nedbank Cup and he is enjoying his game," the source went on.
Having moved on loan to Tuks prior to the start of the season, Sibanyoni will see his contract with Sundown come to an end in June, although the league's defending champions have an option to extend the deal by another year.
