Kaizer Chiefs are poised to make a big decision regarding one of their signings from last season, as it seems the player is not in coach Nasreddine Nabi's plans, the Siya crew understands.
Sources close to the club and the player have indicated Sibongiseni "Ox" Mthethwa's future at Amakhosi looks unclear, with the club considering selling him.

An insider reminded readers how the club initially intended to loan Mthethwa out during the recently closed transfer window. However, since that did not materialise, Amakhosi are now exploring the possibility of selling him.
"There are players who the coach has recommended that should be loaned out and those who he thinks even next season won't be really needed and Ox is one of those players who he feels could be released," said the Siya source.
"Now it's all up to management to make the big decision of letting him go. But with two years to go on his contract, the best they can do is to sell him. So, between now and January the team has to find a buyer or at least a loan deal that would end up being permanent. That's what the team is working on now," the source added.
A second source stated that several teams, including Chippa United, AmaZulu, Stellenbosch FC, and Richards Bay, were interested in Mthethwa for a loan move, but the deals could not be finalised before the transfer window closed.

"Yes, there were teams who were interested in him for a loan but there were issues which could not be finalised before the close of the transfer window. So, if they can't sell him outright in January they will look at those loan possibilities and look at selling at the end of the season or just don't renew his contract when it comes to an end. So, that is the situation with Ox at Chiefs as things stand," said the second source.
Mthethwa joined Chiefs last season under coach Molefi Ntseki and was a regular for Bafana Bafana while at Stellenbosch FC. However, since joining Chiefs, he has lost his place in the national team.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment on the matter, but there was no response at the time of preparing this story.
Mthethwa's uncertain future highlights the challenges players face when they fall out of favour with new coaching regimes. As the club navigates its options, the decisions made regarding Mthethwa will be crucial for both his career and the team's strategic planning. The coming months will determine whether Mthethwa finds a new club or remains with Chiefs under different terms.
