While Mamelodi Sundowns are understood to still be in talks regarding senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi's future, news reaching the Siya crew is that the mentor continues to attract interest.
Earlier this year, Mngqithi celebrated a decade with the Brazilians, having first arrived at the club as an assistant coach under Pitso Mosimane in February 2014.

Over the years, Mngqithi served in different roles at the Chloorkop outfit with dedication and success, including being a caretaker coach and co-coach respectively, before he was deployed in his current role following the technical team changes that took place at the club in 2022 when Rulani Mokwena was moved into the head coach role.
With all his experience in the game, Mngqithi commands a lot of respect in the fraternity, while his achievements also speak volumes for himself, having won several trophies in his career.
In recent times, the 53-year-old has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs among other clubs, although it is understood that there have been no plans for him to leave Downs as he is still valued highly and part of the plans for the club's success.
News reaching the Siya crew is that Mngqithi's name has come up in the discussions about the Sekhukhune United job.
Sekhukhune, who placed their head coach Lehlohonolo Seema on 'special leave' since mid-May, are understood to be in search of a new man to take charge of the team going into the 2024/25 season.
A few experienced coaches have been linked with Babina Noko since the season ended, including Gavin Hunt and Steve Komphela, with Mngqithi now added on the list.

"With coach Manqoba, it's his achievements and experience that can't be ignored and it is not surprising that his name will be mentioned whenever an ambitious club is looking for a capable coach. Sekhukhune are expected to appoint a new coach, and there has been no official word on Mnqithi's situation with Sundowns, hence the mentioning of his name. There has been no official contact though, but anything is possible in football," said the source.
Among his achievements, Mngqithi has won nine league titles with Sundowns, three Nedbank Cup trophies, two Telkom Knockout trophies, two MTN8 trophies (including one with Golden Arrows), the CAF Champions League, Super Cup and African Football League trophies.
Contacted for comment, Mngqithi's agent Mike Makaab confirmed that Sundowns' negotiations are at an advanced stage with the Umzimkhulu-born mentor.
"Manqoba's future is with Mamelodi Sundowns, a deal will be concluded soon," Makaab told the Siya crew.
