A decision is pending on Ndumiso Mabena at Polokwane City as the 2023/24 season will be finishing in a couple of weeks' time.
Mabena joined Polokwane City last year after parting ways with Orlando Pirates. The veteran striker had been with the Buccaneers for his second spell since January 2023 although he didn't enjoy regular game-time.
At Rise and Shine, the 36-year-old has been hoping to revive his career and so far, he has done well after featuring in 13 matches in all competitions with one goal next to his name.
With the three-year contract that the Groblersdal-born player signed on arrival at the Limpopo outfit set to expire at the end of June, indication from sources close to the club are that his future is in doubt for beyond the current campaign.
"Ndumiso Mabena is facing uncertain future with Polokwane City. He was given a one-year contract to help the team in their first season back in the topflight and everyone was happy with that kind of arrangement. There have been no plans for a longer contract for the veteran. Unless there is a change of plan or anything like that, he is likely to leave the club at the end of the season," said a source.
