Chippa United’s technical team shake-up could see a familiar face making his way back to the dugout, with information reaching the Siya crew suggesting that club official Morgan Mammila could be on the verge of returning to a coaching role in the team.
It had looked like the beginning of a new era in the Eastern Cape, with Chippa pinning their hopes on the youthful duo of Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali and Head Coach Sinethemba Badela to bring fresh energy and ideas to the technical team.

Football fans across the province had been excited at the prospect of the pair reviving football in the Eastern Cape, but that optimism now appears short-lived.
Badela, who was seen as one of the bright young minds in local coaching, has seemingly stepped aside after just two matches into the new campaign.
The development has cast uncertainty over Chippa’s technical structure, once again raising questions about stability at the club.
Soccer Laduma has been informed that, in response to the latest news, Mammila could return to the bench to serve as assistant coach to Musa Nyatama who is expected to stand in ahead of this Tuesday’s Betway Premiership clash against TS Galaxy at Buffalo City Stadium in East London.
Mammila, who has worn multiple hats at Chippa United over the years, is understood to still have the trust of management, and his potential return would mark yet another twist in the unpredictable story of the Gqeberha-based outfit.
A source close to the club indicated that further adjustments could be on the cards when Chippa face TS Galaxy.

“Changes should be expected for tomorrow’s game. He (Mammila) is set to step in and assist the technical team, much like he did under previous coaches including Thabo September. The plan is for him to support Musa Nyatama, who is still new at the club after joining during the off-season. There’s still a lot of uncertainty around coach Badela’s future as head coach,” said the source.
Attempts were made to obtain official comment from the Chilli Boys, but no response was received by this publication at the time of publishing.
