Orlando Pirates are busy assessing their youngsters while the seniors are on a break due to the Africa Cup of Nations, so the technical team is looking at players they can promote to the first team, the Siya crew understands.
Siya sources have indicated that an exciting teenager, Mohau Nkota is expected to be promoted from the DStv Diski Challenge team to Pirates' senior side, and Soccer Laduma had previously reported on the player's progress.

The sources close to the club have added that the technical team may have recommended that Nkota should be promoted to the first team so that "new blood" can be instilled into the attacking areas of the side from January.
"At the moment they feel it's easier to promote their own youngsters than looking from the outside. Mohau has been training with the first team since last season and he is used to the players and the technical team right now," said the Siya source.
"They believe he can contribute a lot to the senior team in terms of the attacking system that they use and that's why they have promoted him. Just like they did with Relebohile (Mofokeng) they are gradually blending him in and it is working for the team as he can help the senior team as well as the DDC side at the same time," the source observed.
A second Siya source added that the 18-year-old will continue to play for the DDC side as they work around his senior promotion at the same time.
"Just like the other players in other teams like Mamelodi Sundowns, Stellenbosch FC, Cape Town City, Kaizer Chiefs and others, they can have the player registered for the senior team but he can still play for the DDC.
"It also helps with having enough game time so that he doesn't struggle when given the chance in the senior team. That's what they will do with him. But they are promoting him to the senior team this January," the source told Soccer Laduma.
The Siya crew contacted Pirates for comment but no response was received while preparing this story.
