Leopards Reject Chiefs Offer For Thutlwa?

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have had an offer for Tiklas Thutlwa rejected by Black Leopards.

Two clubs have made an approach for Black Leopards striker Tiklas Thutlwa, and the struggling Motsepe Foundation side is refusing to let go of its star player, the Siya crew has been informed.

The player was last season's Motsepe Foundation Championship's top goalscorer with 16 goals and has been linked to a number of DStv Premiership clubs.

Siya sources have revealed that Amakhosi made an approach for the player in December during the FIFA World Cup break and again in the January transfer window, just before the registration window closed.

According to a source close to both the player and the club, the Soweto giants offered in the region of R3 million for the player's services, which Leopards chairman David Thidiela, refused.

"The first offer was from Kaizer Chiefs in December during the World Cup break  and it was R3 million but the Chairman turned it down. And both Chiefs and then Stellenbosch FC offered R4 million in January just before the transfer window closed and he also turned them down," a source revealed to the Siya crew.

As previously reported by the Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs were serious contenders to land the striker, but indications are that Leopards rejected the offers for Thutlwa due to fears of relegation.

Lidoda Duvha are currently bottom of the First Division log on 13 points after 18 games.

"He (Thidiela) said that with the position that the team is in right now he won't allow any player to leave. He said he wants every player to help the team survive in the Motsepe Foundation Championship and maybe he can reconsider those offers but its not guranteed that he will let him go.

"The other reason is that the team invested alot in Thutlwa when he was injured towards the end of last season and that's why he started playing late this season and they feel they did that because they need him and not to sell him to another team," the source added.
