As previously reported by the Siya crew, Mamelodi Sundowns were expected to be preparing a new deal for goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse.
Siya sources at the club have indicated that the former SuperSport United goalkeeper might have been offered another two years on his contract. This is a possible follow-up option to his initial contract when he joined the club in 2018.

The source added that Pieterse had back then reportedly signed a five-year contract with a two-year option.
"For now, it's apparently that two-year option which has been exercised by the team. Yes, we can say it's a new deal because at times the club can choose not to exercise that option," said the Siya source.
"So, he will be here until June 2025. Both parties have agreed on the new deal conditions," said the source.
A different source added that although the team reportedly had the power to exercise the option they still had to negotiate because it's expected to be a new deal altogether.
"Apparently negotiations had to take place. They had to agree on the new deal when the club wanted to exercise the option," said the other Siya source.
"So, they have agreed and he is staying at the team for the next two years. They are happy to have him as Denis (Onyango) is approaching his retirement.
"They need all the other experienced goalkeepers including Reyaad (Pieterse)," the source concluded.
