Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Rivaldo Coetzee has been strongly linked with a move to Simba SC, and the player's agent has now responded to those reports.
Various reports in South African football media have linked Coetzee with a move to Tanzania to join former teammate Rushine De Reuck.
When the Siya crew asked Coetzee's agent Mike Makaab for a comment on those reports saying Simba are interested in signing Coetzee, the agent responded, "Not true."
Before Makaab responded to the potential Coetzee to Simba move, former Brazilians striker Katlego "Killer" Mphela had expressed his concerns about Coetzee's hypothetical move to Tanzania, suggesting it would be detrimental to both his financial prospects and international career.
In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Mphela questioned the wisdom of such a talented player choosing the Tanzanian Premier League over other possible options.

"I think it's not a good (potential) move. At least if they were moving to North Africa or even abroad, or even here at home for other clubs. You see how Thembinkosi Lorch did it? He went to Morocco. Their league is as good as the South African league, and also the money there is good," Mphela told the Siya crew.
Coetzee has not moved to Tanzania, nevertheless, Mphela is not convinced that Tanzania is the right destination for top PSL players.
"I don't think in Tanzania he can get the money that he is getting here in South Africa. If they are playing in the CAF Champions League then it's better for such players. But it doesn't make sense if Rivaldo still wants to play for Bafana Bafana. He is still young, so he should go to a better league than Tanzania," Mphela told Soccer Laduma.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Coetzee was initially linked with a move to Golden Arrows, which would have reunited him with former coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Soccer Laduma contacted Simba SC Communications Manager Ahmed Ally for comment, but there was no response at the time of publishing this story.
It remains to be seen where Coetzee would end up moving to, whether that could be with Simba, somewhere else in Tanzania, South Africa or anywhere abroad.
