Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be looking to offer an improved contract to young star Mduduzi Shabalala, whose rapid rise within the club has been impressive.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who signed a three-year deal in 2022 after being promoted to the first team, was initially contracted until June 2025.

However, his standout performances under several coaches, including Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki, Cavin Johnson, and now Nasreddine Nabi, have cemented his place as a key player for the Amakhosi.

Siya Sources close to Naturena have indicated that discussions are underway to revise Shabalala's deal to better reflect his growing importance to the team.

Since Nabi's appointment as head coach for the 2024/25 season, Shabalala has been a consistent presence in the starting line-up, featuring in all of Chiefs' matches and contributing three goals and three assists in 11 appearances.

Shabalala's dynamic play, vision, and leadership have made him one of South African football's most promising talents, garnering attention from both Chiefs supporters and broader football circles.

With contract talks in motion, Kaizer Chiefs are clearly eager to secure the future of one of their brightest young players, ensuring he remains a central figure for years to come.
