From PSL Relegation Battle To Europe

A young South African talent who has been shining despite his club's struggles is now attracting attention from multiple European suitors, with a Belgian powerhouse joining a Dutch giant in the race for his signature.

The talented teenager, who has been one of the few bright spots in a disappointing campaign for his Western Cape employers, is now being monitored by clubs from two different European leagues.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Ajax Amsterdam have been impressed by the midfielder who has been one of the few shining stars at the struggling Western Cape side.

Now insiders close to the player have indicated that Gabriel Amato has now attracted interest from another European club, this time in Belgium with Club Brugge.

"It's Club Brugge in Belgium that is interested in the youngster. They are looking at having a combination of South African youngsters as they build their future. Yes, there is interest in him. It's believed that they have been following his progress despite what is happening at Cape Town City," the insider told Soccer Laduma.

A second insider stated that the Dutch interest is still there but for now the youngster is focused on helping his team stay in the Betway Premiership where they are currently on position 15, as the club might have to participate in the playoffs.

"For now the Ajax Amsterdam interest is still there. It's the team's scouts who are working on that and now there is the interest from Belgian side Club Brugge but he is not looking at that as the team needs him in these desperate times. But everything will be looked at at the end of the season," the second Siya source stated.

The 18-year-old has been an important part of City's side this season, playing in most matches even at his tender age.

Soccer Laduma contacted City's CEO John Comitis but there was no response at the time of publishing this story.

The coming weeks will be crucial both for City's survival hopes and potentially for the young midfielder's career trajectory, with the player's focus firmly on helping his current employers before making any decisions about a possible move abroad. Should City maintain their top flight status, they may find themselves in a stronger negotiating position regarding their prized asset's future.
