It's been a month since the Siya crew reported that Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba started training with German Bundesliga 2 side Karlsruher SC, in hope of a deal; however, there has been an update on the forward's future now.
A return to France could be on the cards for Mothiba.

The 28-year-old has been training with the second placed side for well over a month, though there has been no indication of whether he would be signed or not, despite Siya sources indicating that he had been impressive during his assessment period.
It appears, however, that Mothiba is not short of options either.
Siya sources close to the matter have indicated that the player has now opened talks with French Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot over a possible move.
Mothiba is no stranger to France having played a large majority of his football in the country for teams such as Lille, Strasbourg, Valenciennes and Troyes.
A large part of Mothiba's decision could be based on the fact that he still has family in France, which could sway matters in favour of Clermont at this point.
With the player having last played competitively in 2023, it remains to be seen where he plays his football in the 2024/25 season.
