Having broken the news in last week's Soccer Laduma that Kopano Thuntsane has penned a new deal with struggling Moroka Swallows, the Siya crew has been informed of the length of the player's contract.
According to Siya sources, the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper has signed a one-year deal with the Dube Birds, though the club have yet to make an official announcement.
The crew understands that Thuntsane's contract does contain an option to extend for a further year. The Pirates development product was without a club since being released by the Buccaneers at the end of the 2022/23 season.
During that period the player was training with the Wits University ABC Motsepe League side. Thuntsane has joined the club immediately given that he was unattached after he was handed his clearance by Pirates after parting ways with the club.
The 24-year-old will be hoping to contribute to Swallows' quest to remain in the topflight this season and add much needed competition to the side coached by Musa Nyatama, whom he played with at Pirates.
