Chiefs To Launch Another Mayo Bid

The Siya crew has been led to believe that the name of Khanyisa Mayo has been discussed at the offices at Naturena, as Kaizer Chiefs look to bolster the striking department, which has raised some concerns at the club.

Amakhosi have previously tried to bring the player to the club, but Cape Town City were not interested in letting the player go.

It appears the Soweto giants could dig deep into their pockets to secure the services of the former Richards Bay FC striker, in an effort to find a marksman who will be a bit more consistent than the ones they currently have on board.

It's understood that the future of Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is uncertain, and an exit has not been ruled, as previously reported by Soccer Laduma, so the club is already making plans to have new players to make their strike force a bigger threat than what it is at the moment.

The lanky forward still has a year to go on his contract, but there is a possibly that Chiefs could reach an agreement to part ways with the Burundian international.

The 24-year-old Mayo, who has also attracted interest from Mamelodi Sundowns, has gone into double figures for the Citizens this season, netting 11 times in all competitions, with two assists to his name.

Chiefs' top scorer this season is Ashley Du Preez with nine goals in all competitions, while Bimenyimana has struck eight times, mostly from the penalty spot.

City have recently exercised the option in Mayo's contract, so Amakhosi would have to probably pay a big transfer fee to get him on board.

For Mayo's comment on his future, see his interview in this week's edition of Soccer Laduma.

Should Mayo follow in his father's footsteps and make the move to Naturena? Let us know in the comments below!
