Carnell Linked To CT City: Comitis Responds

Former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch insists that Bradley Carnell's success at St Louis City comes as no surprise.

With reports from other media linking former St. Louis FC coach Bradley Carnell to Cape Town City, club owner and Chairman John Comitis talks to the Siya crew about the head coach position at his team.

Comitis has stated that they are not considering the former Bafana Bafana left-back. Speaking to Soccer Laduma in a one-on-one interview, Comitis expressed surprise at the reports, stating that there is no truth in them.

The chairman added that City have a coach and they are working with him for the betterment of the club.

"No. There is nothing like that about Bradley Carnell being linked to us. I also heard it and saw it two days ago but it's not true. We have a coach. He is contracted to us and we must getting going. We have to do do our best with the coach and the team. We have a job at hand with the coach and the team so that's not true," Comitis told the Siya crew.

In addition, Comitis stated that it's still too early to be pressing panic buttons in context of the Cape Town club's slow start to the campaign.

"As I have said we have a coach who is still contracted to us and we can't be pressing panic buttons at this stage of the season. It's still too early. We have to when it comes to turning things round for better (results) and to do that we all have to work together and we are doing just that right now," Comitis told Soccer Laduma.

Cape Town City are currently sitting 13th on the PSL table after winning just one out of their five Premiership fixtures.

As City navigates the early stages of the season, Chairman Comitis' commitment to the current coaching staff remains firm. Fans will be eager to see how the team responds and improves under the existing leadership in the rest of the campaign.
