Versatile player Abel Mabaso has confirmed his exit from Richards Bay and is already preparing himself for the next chapter of his playing career.
Mabaso's contract with the KZN outfit expired at the end of June and he now has an opportunity to join another club that shows an interest in his services. The 33-year-old was with Richards Bay for two seasons, playing 40 matches in all competitions for the club.

The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player explained to the Siya crew that he had a good time at the club.
"My contract ended on the 30th of June. We were not having any engagements in terms of a contract renewal, so I just decided to look forward to a new challenge somewhere else. I am looking forward to a new challenge. I feel that I still have something to offer. Giving the right space and the right opportunity and the right environment, I will definitely perform to my utmost best and add value," Mabaso said to the Siya crew.
"I still feel like I want to play in the highest division in the country. I can still play in the highest division. I just look at it as wine. You age like fine wine, so it's all about your mentality and how you conduct yourself off the field. I would not be in this position without taking care of myself well off the pitch."
Mabaso looked back at his time with the KZN outfit and is grateful for the opportunity he had to work with the coaches and players there.

"There were ups and downs in the time I spent there, but I am grateful to the chairman for the opportunity that he granted me. I shared a changeroom with really good players and the city of Richards Bay was such a beautiful place. I really enjoyed the city and it's a pity that we could not play our home games in Richards Bay because I know for a fact that it would have been difficult for teams to play against us there," Mabaso said to the Siya crew.
"I had a good time and I learnt from the coaches I played under. I leave with a good heart, even though there are some issues still outstanding that are being handled. I leave with my head held up high and with my heart full. There are outstanding issues that are being handled. I won't get into details, but there are outstanding issues that are being handled in the correct manner."
