Reports of the 25-year-old leaving Ajax at the end of the campaign are heating up and, AC Milan was closely linked to his name.
However, Milan's inability to qualify for Champions League football next season seems a major stumbling stone for Serero's move to Italy. The seven-time Champions League/European Cup winners are currently ninth in the Serie A and far away from the Champions League spots.
'Cream', who has never ended a season without a trophy to his name since making a move to Holland in 2011, reportedly wants Champions League football to further improve his game.
A source told the Siya crew,"Thulani wants to be playing in the Champions League. He feels that would be the right step forward for him if he leaves Ajax."
Serero's Ajax have unfortunately missed out on the Eredivisie title this term to PSV Eindhoven and, will now have to play Champions League qualifiers next year.
The midfield man has matured tremendously since moving to Holland nearly four years ago, increasing his versatility and becoming a player that can be deployed practically anywhere on the midfield.
With just three games of the Dutch season now left to play, the Siya crew will continue to monitor Serero's situation to see where his future may lie, however given that he does have a contract until 2017, he is likely to fetch a pretty price if he does leave.
